| Sometimes even after a successful stay in a residential treatment program there are remaining issues that need to be addressed. Children enter a transitional living program to do just that...transition. Even though a number of important skills and attitudes may have been adapted through other programs, it is in a transitional living program and "real life" situations that these skills are put to the test. Turning Point treats females ages 15 to 19 in need of a step-down program or transition back to their home, to their community or to total independence. We also serve children whose therapeutic needs do not warrant long term treatment. Most of our residents have experienced a significant disruption in the appropriate cognitive skills, labile or extreme emotional states and unacceptable or disruptive behaviors. | |
