Villanova Preparatory School is a Catholic, college preparatory high school for young men and women grades 9-12. Villanova is staffed by the Augustinians (priests and brothers of the Order of St. Augustine) and dedicated lay persons. The school has 35 faculty members, including two Augustinian priests. Over 50% of the faculty hold advanced degrees. Enrollment for 2001-02 totals 256 (90 boarders, 166 day). Day students come to Villanova from Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties and boarders represent 11 countries including the United States. The student-faculty ratio is 7:1. English as a Second Language classes are offered, and are taught completely in English. Villanova is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and by the Western Catholic Education Association. The school is a member of the National Catholic Education Association and the Secondary School Admissions Test Board.
