Georgia Military College was established in 1879 to “educate young men and women in an environment which fosters the qualities of good citizenship.” Georgia Military College is a co-educational, accredited, liberal arts, junior college that opens its doors to qualified and highly motivated high school graduates who are determined to earn a college degree.

While 95% of our junior college scholars are commuting students and do not march or wear uniforms, they do benefit from our upbeat, structured, and student-oriented environment.

Each of our eight campus-locations across Georgia shares a commitment to academic and character development excellence. It is a fact that our faculty works best with students who must carefully structure their everyday lives so that holding down a job, taking care of a family, and going to college can be afforded and successfully accomplished.

Academics
The academic mission of Georgia Military College involves the development of the intellect and the elevation of character. The learning based curriculum of the college is, therefore, a blend of expected student learning objectives of intellectual development in each course and in ethical development. This unique blend has characterized this institution almost since its founding in 1879 under a charter granted by the Georgia state legislature.
